An old shipping crate and machinist"s stool were restored as basic elements of an artist"s studio to provide efficiency and function during less static, more nomadic years. In reconstituting these objects, I experimented with various methods of making. Wood carving and joining, metal machining, cnc milling, and electrical soldering were some of these processes. Akin to the toolboxes of craftsmen from the past, the box here includes a variety of tools to get the job done - pens, pencils, adhesives, knives, printer, scanner, light table, swing lamp - and was tailored to their specific fits
